                    RESERVATIONS

In order to make a reservation with  Car Hire New Zealand a deposit is required. The deposit amount is depending on the hire but this will be a minimum of NZ$50 during the winter season (April - Sept) and a minimum of NZ$150 during the summer season (Oct - March). For hires from Christchurch we require the full amount to be paid at time of reservation (usually before arrival at Christchurch depot)

                    LICENSE REQUIREMENTS

Current New Zealand, International Licenses (or English written) and International Driving Permits are accepted.

                    INSURANCE

All our prices include GST, unlimited kilometres, AA breakdown service and a full comprehensive insurance.

                    AIRPORT SERVICE

We operate a friendly "Meet & Greet" service at New Zealand Airports.  Free airport-accomodation pick up is also available.

                    PAYMENT

We accept all major credit cards including: Visa, MasterCard, BankCard, and American Express.

                    DAILY RATES

Each day is a 24 hour Period. Please note that late returns are charged accordingly.

                    PETROL

All vehicles are supplied with a full tank. All vehicles must be returned from hire with a full tank. The vehicle will be filled at the hirer's cost with an added surcharge should the vehicle be returned unfilled at the end of a hire.

Cancellation & Refunds

After our confirmation of your reservation:

  • Ferry reservations must be cancelled 48 hours prior to departure, hereafter there's no refund. Cancellations before 48 hours, incur a $35 cancellation fee.
  • A minimum fee of NZ$25 applies to changes / modifications.
  • A minimum fee of NZ$150 apply to all car cancellations
  • No show on pick up date incurs NZ$150 cancellation fee + 2 days rental
  • No refunds are given on unused days (early returns).

All our prices include GST, unlimited Kilometers.  AA breakdown service and full comphrehensive insurance.
Rental vehicle and third party insurance is included in our rates and is subject to deductible (Excess) of NZ$ 950.  NZ$ 3000 for drivers under 21 or for drivers with restricted (Provisional Licence).  Excess Liability (deductible) $2000 + GST on single vehicle accident/damage.
